Summer Solstice Sound Healing

Celebrate the Solstice!

In Salisbury Plain, England, the stone formation known as “Stonehenge” was built so that when the Sun rises on the horizon on the day of the Summer Solstice, it hits this mysterious and fascinating monument directly in the center, and lights up each pillar displaying a perfect horseshoe shape.

The solstice officially starts our summer season as the sun moves into the sign of cancer. The first astrological signs in each season are called the “cardinal signs” and are about new beginnings bringing fresh energy to a new season. {Aries begins spring, Cancer begins summer, Libra begins fall, and Capricorn begins winter} On this first day of summer, the sun reaches its highest point in the sky making it the day with the most light. This day serves as a reminder to honor the light within each of us as we shine on others as well as ourselves.

Gemini is considered a breezy, fast-paced sign. Cancer season slows us down to actually enjoy that sunlight as we transition to a season of nourishment, where we look within to receive and create versus “do” things. Cancer is ruled by the moon which is feminine in nature and is deeply rooted in emotions. In the spring we planted new seeds for our lives. In the summer, we pause as we watch patiently as they grow and flourish. We concentrate on the light that graces our lives during this season (that feels particularly short here in New Hampshire!).

I am very grateful for the light and warmth of the summer months. Remembering the things you are grateful for, set your intentions around the intuitive nature of this season. When you lean into your intuition, also try to fully trust it. What are you ready to receive that will support the self nourishment you need? “I am ready to receive {fill in the blank}” The process of receiving requires that we make space in ourselves by letting go of what we no longer need.

This intuitive sound healing will assist us to let go to make space, to nourish our inner voices and desires and to allow ourselves to trust in our intuition as we glide into the summer season of nourishment and growth. I hope to see you there!
