With Sacred Crossings End of Life care, I blend hospice knowledge, doula compassion and soul healing & wisdom into one all encompassing offering.
My goal is to establish and understand what the “perfect death” looks like for each client. Once that concept has been discussed and explored, I work with the patient and family to achieve my clients wishes. Death and “perfect” look different for everyone. But that is what I strive for.
A good death is a community building event. Seeing families come together to honor their loved one is a magical and beautiful thing to witness. Death can be hard, but it doesn't have to be unbearable or without beauty.
As a Registered Nurse, I combine my sacred death care principles with my nursing/medical background of the disease process and the client/family emotional support that is so crucial during the dying process. I help to facilitate communication within the family to encourage ways to stay as present as possible, honoring the one who is dying.
My role is not to interfere with any hospice care, as I embrace the chance to work cohesively with, yet parallel to, these important end of life services. I educate patients and their families on the disease process & can help explain (and support) what is involved with hospice services. I can perform physical care (if desired/able), as well as emotional support for the clients and families.
Along this journey, I also look for any opportunity to provide soul-based principles of sacred death care work to help slow down what is going on on the outside, to equal what is happening on the inside. Slowing down and being present is soothing to the soul and to the healing process.
The amount of involvement in each with each client is very individual. The can begin and end whenever needed. The services are available through the continuum for the client and their family; preparing for death, the moment of the last breath, and re-emering after death when grief and loss can feel most intense.
Cost:
$125 hourly rate
