Oil Tips for Healthy Snack Choices

I love adding a drop of essential oils to my recipes (it makes them healthy right??!) 

BENEFITS OF THE ADDED OILS (just so you can brag when you serve this! You’re Welcome) 

Rosemary: Emotionally, it is the oil of Knowledge and Transition bringing expansion to the mind and supporting those who need to receive new information or experiences. It supports healthy digestion* and internal organ function* and helps reduce nervous tension and occasional fatigue.* (1)

Basil: with its warm, spicy, yet herbal aroma is known to reduce anxious feelings. Basil provides great benefits to both the mind and body due to its high linalool content, making it an ideal application to help reduce feelings of tension when applied to the temples and back of the neck. Basil is commonly used in cooking to add a fresh, herbal flavor to meats, pastas, and entrée dishes, and it is also cooling to the skin. The aroma of Basil helps promote a sense of focus and a stress-relieving experience.(1) “The smell brings strength to the heart and relaxation to the mind”. (2) 

Cilantro: This is the oil of “releasing control”. It’s a strong one! It helps facilitate detoxing negative emotions, especially ones buried deep. If there is something that is not resonating with your true self, cilantro helps release it. The culinary uses and additional benefits of Cilantro have been documented for centuries. Internal use of Cilantro promotes healthy digestion and supports healthy immune and nervous system functions. (1)

Oregano: Emotionally, oregano is the oil of humility and non-attachment. You likely know who this oil could benefit! It removes blocks, clears negativity and cuts away negative attachments.(2) Internally, Oregano will support healthy respiratory function.* or you could put one drop in place of dried oregano in spaghetti sauce, pizza sauce, or on a roast(1). Or in Hummus. Just sayin’.

So, pick your favorite and you can always add a few fresh sprigs of the herb for aesthetics! And please, be sure that your ingredients are non-GMO and organically grown, free of insecticides or additives. It makes a HUGE difference to your body.
